<g:plusone href="http://fixmykids.com/124/healthy-kids-happy-kids/" size="standard" ></g:plusone>
Every parent wants their child to be healthy. They feel at ease when their children are in good health. What should you do in order for your kids to remain healthy? With the pressures of fast food and our relatively sluggish society, it is important to teach our children how to be healthy kids. This should come from the parents as the children will emulate them. The parents are role models to the kids and if they observe a wholesome lifestyle and are healthy then there is a good chance that their children will adopt the same habit.

Factors Determining the Health of your Kids

Genetics – these are traits passed on to a child from the parent during the process of formation. If the parents have healthy traits, the kids will definitely have the same and vice versa. Parents should teach kids about this in order for them to appreciate themselves.

Healthy eating – provide your children with healthy, balanced diets for them to develop and grow strong. Feed your children whole grains, fruits, lean proteins and vegetables as they are healthy foods for children. Don’t give your kids junk food, but if you must give them, do it minimally. Healthy eating children are ever energetic and strong to withstand many diseases.

Exercise – encourage your kids to take part in exercises. Don’t let your kids be involved only in computer games but let them carry out physical exercises. This will make them fit and enable them build healthy bodies. This is because by exercising, they sweat thus eliminating waste products from the body, which might render them sick. If they don’t like sports, let them take part in any other form of exercising such as biking or roller skating.

Addictions – try to be frank with your kids and give them advice on the various addictions that might render them unhealthy such as smoking, gambling, drugs, and alcohol. Honesty is one of the ways to be healthy for kids.

Sleep – kids need a good nights rest in order for their brains and bodies to grow effectively. When they get enough sleep they are able to relieve all tiredness thus making them fresh and more attentive in their activities. Hence parents need to apply a good sleeping routine. This can be achieved by switching off the TV and computers at a consistent hour to enforce the routine.

Mental Health – talk and relate to your children in a polite manner that will not cause any stress on them. This is because when you harass children, they get anxious hence are unable to concentrate on their activities. This leads to lack of joy in whatever they do, including eating food hence poor health. Avoid doing anything that is likely to bring about psychological trauma to the child. Also teach the kids how to avoid or deal with situations that are likely to affect them emotionally.

Bodily Changes – it is important to educate your children on the various changes that they are likely to encounter as they grow especially when they are approaching the puberty stage. Eating habits alter when they hit the teenage mark. Ensure healthy foods are consumed and continuing instilling the benefits of good food.

These are some methods that will promote health for your child. Remember, a healthy kid is a happy kid who will make for a happy home.

I have just read an interesting article about how to achieve results with kids that display bad behavior and have bad attitudes. It was an interesting article …in fact let me sum this up here very quickly for you.

This is about kids which display bad behavior such as whining about everything, or a kid that always lags behind everything …you know, a kid that always forgets something or is late for events ..I think they call that a “noodler” …or kids which display exaggerated bossiness or are always nagging about something. Funnily enough though , kids don’t just pluck behavior like this from thin air, so if you ask the parents what they were like as kids…guess what…in many instances they were probably the same.

As parents we always think these are phases which pass as time goes on and kids grow up…. they have their “waves” of new behavior patterns and they change. They get new ideas from their friends in school of patterns which works for them to achieve results with their parents and then your kids try that with you. It’s part of growing up and every kid, you as a kid were no different, tries to establish their “ground” and space in family and society. They will use their “elbows” so to speak to tell everyone…this is me..here I am..so listen to me and notice me….don’t just ignore me…. it is a natural path for every living being to establish their “self” and position in life.

Ads By CbproAds

Here is another example – when a kid is having trouble with their homework and have problems finishing it, though keeps on going and completing it…give them genuine praise…more than just “you did a great job finishing your homework”….describe it more…maybe something like”Do you know what I notice and find terrific about you? When you have a problem and are frustrated, you actually use your inner strength and staying power to solve it, and that is great to see and on top of it you can see that it works for you.” …you kid will probably be ecstatic about this, because they will not only notice that you have been paying close attention to what they are doing and making an effort to analyze it and they will consciously use this identified strength in future “hard to manage” situations.

Last not least, focus on their growth and development over the coming years. In all likelihood you will only have somewhere around 18 years with your kids and seeing them grow up and seeing their milestone achievements over the years is part of your focus. Praise them for their achievements and let them know how this will also benefit them in future. With this strategy you can help eliminate a lot of your kid’s useless behavior traits and also help your kids to learn and understand valuable information about themselves which they will remember for the rest of their lives. For you it is an investment in the positive sides, rather than the negative traits and it is also an investment in your kids future!

The bottom line is that your kids will also have a more positive frame of mind rather than hearing only about the negative things they do and as a result they will be happier, the results will be far more positive and beneficial for their future…your kids will actually gravitate towards the positive and leave behind the negative, obnoxious and useless behavior traits…and finally with all the positive results they see themselves achieving, they will also get the icing on the cake….your attention!

Bottom line to fix you kids……..focus on the positive and do nothing on the negative……….your kids will see that negative behavior will not get your attention, whereas positive behavior will. They are happier and you have less stress…a definite win:win position for everyone and that helps you fix your kids.

Being a parent is possibly the most rewarding and at times also the most stressful experience in our life. We all take it differently and it’s up to us to “digest” it as best we can. Our kids are just a reflection of us, how we were when we grew up and and what we believed in and what values we had back then and have today. They can stretch our boundaries to, at time, unimaginable lengths, but it also helps us as parents to grow and opens new opportunities for us as we progress.

For us as parents it is important to note that our relationship with our kids is solely dependent on our thoughts. What really matters is not what we see on the outside, but rather our impressions we have about our kids, their views and their behavior patterns.

Our kids don’t listen to us, that’s not what they do, in fact they just watch us and that is what they absorb. But one thing they will always want to hear from us and listen to us is when we tell them that we love them and we are ever so thankful that they are part of our lives. The best time to tell them is when they go to sleep because our sub-conscious mind never sleeps and it is then that that your mind best absorbs what is being said.

Kids are no different to us, just think back to when you grew up. Growing up is difficult at times, everything is new, you learn new things and you don’t have the benefit of being able to go back in memory to compare what happens when you do one thing and not another. They compare themselves to everyone else around them, they try to make a place for themselves in society and all this is massive pressure on them. Amidst all this they add more pressure for themselves by seeking for affection and acceptance in society.

So the more we tell our kids that we accept them just as they are, the more assurance we give them on their journey through life. Also let your kids know that we are all unique, everyone has unique talents and qualities and that we all have to use our talents to the best of our ability. Use your talents and qualities and do what you like to do in life and that alone will help you achieve your financial freedom a lot easier. Our kids must also understand that it is important what we think about them and not what others think about them.

One good system is to tell your kids that their only job when growing up is to be happy …that’s the only job they should worry about….because you probably know the saying ..good things come to good people and when you are happy you just somehow don’t worry about anything negative and as such you don’t attract negativity and don’t entertain problems. ..they seem to just flow past you…

Teach your kids to accept life as it is rather than fight it with their opinions and judgments.
